1884-85 Cover from London addressed to ADEN, redirected to BRISBANE, QUEENSLAND franked GB 5d. tied London duplex, boxed ”NOT CALLED FOR” s/l in black, ”PENANG .../MR 8 84/PAID” double-ring d/s and red ”ADVERTISED/(date)/UNCLAIMED” three-liner alongside, on reverse with Aden 'Feb. 9' arrival and 'Feb. 13' leaving cds along with Brisbane '8 Apr 84' arrival cds and red circled ”DEAD LETTER OFFICE QUEENSLAND” datestamp. An interesting undeliverable cover England-Aden-Penang-Australia.
1898 Destination ORANGE FREE STATE: Indian PS card 1a. on 1½a. used from Aden (3 May 98) to. P.O. Zandrivier, Orange Free State via Durban (Natal), Harrismith and Bethlehem (2 June 98) with related datestamps. Card with a short tear at top and a slightly creased top right corner otherwise fine. A SCARCE MAIL FROM ADEN TO THE ORANGE FREE STATE.
1909 Post Declaration for parcel, franked with India KE 1r., 8a. and 1a. tied with ”ADEN/PAR/NO 17/09” cds, label ”66” with boxed ”ADEN” h/s in black alongside. Document creased and part separated vert. fold, but a very scarce form with Indian adhesives used in Aden.
1917 (ETHIOPIA). Picture post card (small bends) written from Cornelius, Org. addressed to Ethiopia bearing Washington lc green tied by Cornelius, Org. roller l30th Jun' routed via Aden with transit '6/10' and circular 'Passed Censor/Aden/No A 156' censor cachet in red with Harrar receiver '14/10'. Very fine item of censored mail and destination.
1942: Censored and taxed cover from Aden-Camp to Bombay franked on reverse with Coronation 1a. vert. pair tied by Bombay G.P.O. '5 JUN 42' cds, on front with tax mark ”T” in circle, circled ”OVERLAND POSTAGE/DUE/As/7” h/s has been crossed out and new ”OVERLAND POSTAGE/DUE/As/1” h/s has been applied, also with various Bombay and 'Chinch Bandar' datestamps on front and on reverse, and censor strip and mark. Cover opened two sides (top and left) and light creases/folds.
